James House was established in 1986 with the aim of providing basic needs for children in need in the Hout Bay community. The organisation provides holistic care, support and protection services to vulnerable children and young people who are in need or at risk. HDF supported the BEST project – building emotionally strong teens – which used early intervention and support to reduce the number of adolescents removed from their homes and communities and placed in institutions due to behavioural issues.
