Founded in 1937, Plan is a leading international organisation working towards achieving universal children’s rights. HDF supported Plan’s programme in Sierra Leone and Liberia to promote birth registration for children’s development and protection. The right to registration has been recognised as a basic human right by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. It is a foundational component of human rights and a tool for effective protection from child labour, child marriage, sexual exploitation, and trafficking.
