Engaging parents to promote girls' education

India
2013 - 2015

The Population Council conducts research to address critical health and development issues. They help people avoid HIV infection and access life-saving HIV services, as well as empowering girls to protect themselves and have a say in their own lives. HDF supported the Population Council’s pilot project to engage parents in promoting girls’ transition to secondary education in the Indian state of Gujurat. A key feature of the project was building parental and community engagement in, and accountability for, secondary education.
